I have obtained many eggs and they travel up the shafts along with other items but I don't have them in my inventory, where are they or what are they?

Those eggs are the biggest feature of the game not yet implemented - they will contain different artifacts which will alter the gameplay of each level significantly. I am planning to polish technical side of the game first before diving into implementation of those artifacts.
